Thank you for your interest in completing your student placement at Combined Preschools of Southern Grampians.
Undertaking work experience in a kindergarten setting provides students with a valuable introduction to the early childhood education sector. It offers an opportunity to observe and participate in the daily routines of a kindergarten, while gaining insight into how educators support young children’s learning, development, and wellbeing through play-based learning.
This hands-on experience can help students explore their interest in working with children and inform future study or career pathways in education, health, or community services.

If you would like to apply for a student placement, please complete the form below.
Please note, if you are over 18, your application must include:
- a current National Police History check (no more than 6 months old)
- a copy of your Working with Children Check Card.
Next steps
Once we receive your completed Student Application Form and accompanying documentation, we will contact you to confirm your placement and to arrange your induction.
Placements are offered based on service availability, suitable supervision, and staffing capacity. While we value supporting student learning, we must ensure that placements do not impact the safety, wellbeing, or quality of care provided to children. If we are unable to offer you a placement at your preferred service, you will be contacted to source an alternative.
All students are required to attend an organisation induction prior to commencement. Any student who does not attend an induction will have their placement automatically cancelled.
Please note, we must receive your school/TAFE/University paperwork BEFORE your placement can commence.
