Church Hill Kindergarten

At Church Hill Kindergarten we offer a warm and welcoming environment where children can grow and learn. We nurture children to develop a strong sense of self identity and personal wellbeing whilst encouraging a disposition for learning and building effective communicators. We provide a stimulating environment through the practice of intentional teaching and child lead learning.

Guided by the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF), the Child Safe Standards and Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics, Church Hill Kindergarten educators, families and our Parent Advisory Group, will work alongside other professionals to provide the best environment for all members of our kindergarten community.

• Are committed to child safety in line with Combined Preschools of the Southern Grampians Commitment to Child Safety. This is reflected through supporting all children to be safe, happy and empowered.
• We value the participation and inclusion of all children within our kinder program and environment.
• Provide an environment that is safe, inclusive of all, welcoming, nurturing and accessible to all children.
• Meet all children where they are developmentally and understand that everyone develops in their own time.
• Understand our role in keeping children safe, have a zero tolerance for child abuse and understand our role as mandatory reporters.
• Provide an educational play-based program within the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework that meets the needs of all children in the service, allows for flexibly, is creative, fun and provides opportunities to explore, learn and grow.

• Understand that families are a wealth of knowledge about the needs and wellbeing of their children and we will work with them to ensure the individual needs of their children are met.
• Provide an environment where families feel safe, supported and listened to.

• Work together to develop a collaborative approach to learning.
• Create a homely, comfortable, calming environment that fosters reciprocal learning between children, families and educators.
• Reflect on the individual needs of each child to identify where they may need additional support.
• Engage in critical reflections to ensure that our program and environment meets the continual changing needs of all children.
• Advocate for the needs of the children and their families.
• Seek the knowledge and expertise of those in our community to allow us to enhance our learning and understanding of the world around us and the needs of children.
